Are there degree programs in Whiteness Studies at the B.A., M.A., or PhD level? I get asked this question occasionally. To my knowledge there are none, but students might be able to focus their work in this area while pursuing degrees in English, Anthropology, Sociology, Cultural Studies and other fields. This would depend on the flexibility of the program and its current faculty. Here are some recommendations:
Department of Ethnic Studies, University of California at Berkeley
Cultural Studies Program, University of California at Davis
Program in Race, Poetics, and Empire, Department of English, University of Pittsburgh
Cultural Studies Phd, Claremont University
Cultural Studies Program, CUNY Graduate Center
Ethnicity, Gender, and Social Identities Program, American Culture Studies, Bowling Green University
Critical Race and Ethnic Studies, University of California at Santa Cruz
